Helping Faebian grow on and off the pitch

17-year-old Faebian has been attending our Kicks sessions at Tooting and Mitcham for two-and-a-half years and dreams of one day representing AFC Wimbledon’s First Team.

Although football hasn’t always been his focus - he spent over 12 years playing ice hockey - Faebian now works incredibly hard to improve his game.

Despite taking up football late, Faebian now represents Epsom and Ewell, on loan from Carshalton Athletic where he is part of their Academy and First Team.

The coaches are very welcoming, very genuine and they help me out a lot
— Faebian, Kicks Participant

Faebian believes that our Kicks sessions have helped him improve as a player and as a person, developing his character, personality and football ability.

Faebian now acts as an excellent role model for the other kids at Kicks, always trying to do the best he can and helping out whenever possible. Faebian believes that the brilliant basics of working hard and being polite will take him a long way.

The coaches at Kicks help Fabian out a lot, creating an environment that welcomes everyone, regardless of their background.

Faebian’s story featured as part of our Impact Report, which showcased the work of AFC Wimbledon Foundation across the 2023-24 season in which we engaged over 11,000 unique participants.

If you want to help us inspire more people like Faebian, we are currently recruiting for casual coaches to join our team with and support the delivery of our Kicks Programmes. To find out more, click the button below.
