Primary PE & Sports Coach – Liberty Primary School  

Role description:
AFC Wimbledon Foundation is seeking an enthusiastic staff member for an exciting and unique role, with the Foundation, Merton School Sport Partnership (MSSP) and Liberty Primary School working in partnership to improve PE and Sports activities for primary school aged children.

For four days per week, the PE & Sports Coach will work during the school day to provide high quality, fun and engaging Physical Education, physical activity and sport sessions for primary aged children, whilst also leading the PL Primary Stars delivery at Liberty Primary School.

Primary Location: Liberty Primary School. Western Road, Mitcham CR4 3EB  
Secondary Location: Cherry Red Records Stadium, Plough Lane, London, SW17 0NR

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours a week), Fixed Term Contract until 31st July 2026 (The 2025-2026 Academic Year). The role may be extended past the initial term, subject to performance and further partnership funding.
Salary: £30,000

Start: Immediate
Key working hours:
Normal working hours between 9.00am – 5.00pm for four days a week. The fifth day may include evening or weekend delivery.

Person specification:
Essential:

  • FA Level 2 or higher UKCC coaching qualification

  • In date FA Safeguarding Children course & the FA Introduction to First Aid in Football certificate

  • An enhanced DBS check.

  • Ability to travel to activity & meetings across London and surrounding areas / Clean Driving License.

Desirable:

  • Hold a relevant higher education or industry recognised certification.

  • 1st4sport Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport or L3/L4 LTA and HLTA course – Willing to work towards.

  • Hold a Youth Worker Level 2 Qualification or working towards.

  • Hold mentoring and / or mental health first aid qualification.

Sessional Coach - Sports & Education

Role description:
AFC Wimbledon Foundation are looking to recruit additional casual coaches to deliver our Saturday Morning Football For All sessions. This role may cover programmes such as Extra-curricular clubs, Holiday  Courses,  Player Development Centre, Women and Girls provision, as well as our other provisions across different departments, with a view to increased hours and curriculum delivery in the future.

Pay will vary depending on qualifications, experience and hours worked. AFC Wimbledon Foundation is a London Living Wage employer.

If you hold an FA Level 1 or Level 2 Coaching Award, have experience of working in school and community settings, live locally in the South West London area and are interested in working for a growing Foundation please complete the application form below.

sessional coach - Women & Girls

Role description:
AFC Wimbledon Foundation are looking to recruit additional casual coaches to initially deliver our Women and Girls programmes as well as mixed provision. This role may cover programmes such as after-school clubs, Saturday morning sessions and holiday courses, as well as our Player Development Centre and Women’s Fitness Classes, with a view to increased hours and curriculum delivery in the future.

Pay will vary depending on qualifications, experience and hours worked. AFC Wimbledon Foundation is a London Living Wage employer.

sessional coach - Youth Inclusion

Role description:

AFC Wimbledon Foundation are looking to recruit additional sessional coaches to deliver on our Youth Inclusion programmes, including PL Kicks, Holiday Activity Fund, and Food programmes for children eligible for Free School Meals, and Safer Spaces, a Greater London Authority funded initiative designed to reduce anti-social behaviour through sports.

The aim is to create inclusive diversionary activities away from criminal activity and anti-social behaviour, contributing to safer and stronger communities for our participants to play sport, be active and gain accreditations.

Location: Merton, Wandsworth and neighbouring boroughs.
Start: Immediate
Key working hours: Weekday afternoons and evenings.

Volunteer Mentor

Role description:

A partnership of 10 Merton based youth organisations have secured an exciting grant from the Big Lottery, through the Propel initiative.

As a collective we are seeking volunteers to support our partnership programme, Motivate Merton. We are looking for individuals 21+, passionate about positive outcomes for young people and experience of empathy for the challenges they face growing up in London. 

Please note, this is an unpaid volunteer role.

Commitment: 45-90 minute sessions, fortnightly 1:1 mentoring sessions. April 2025 - March 2026

Location: Various locations across the Merton borough
