Inspiring Active Lifestyles in Local Children

We know that taking part in regular exercise is good for your body and mind, but the lack of opportunities in our local community means that children from disadvantaged areas often don’t get the chance.

Did you know?

  • Mental health issues and obesity rates in children living in Merton, Wandsworth and Kingston are higher than average.

  • Parents on low incomes can’t afford the additional costs to send their children to sports/activity clubs

  • Some children don’t have access to any after school sports opportunities

  • Lots of children drop out of sports participation in their teens

  • It costs more to be healthy and people are struggling with the cost of living crisis

AFC Wimbledon Foundation aims to ensure that every child has a chance to play sports or exercise. To learn more about some of the programmes and sessions we provide, click here.

If you want to get active yourself, you can do so in the name of a good cause by taking part in the Wombles Walk on the 30th September, to help raise vital funds for the work we do in our community!
