Shelia’s wonderful week with us!

I had the best work experience at AFC Wimbledon, from the tasks I was doing to meeting new people. It was great!

AFC Wimbledon is a family club and you can feel that energy as soon as you walk in. The people there are lovely. Rhiannon, Fiona, Nicole, Maddi, Kai & Kacey are wonderful people who I got to work with during my week’s work experience. I wish it was longer. I was excited every single day to go into work.

I liked the opportunities they gave me to express myself and how welcoming they all were.

We support 15 local young people each year

Here at AFC Wimbledon Foundation we have supported 5 work experience placements so far this year and we have 10 more students signed up from local schools such as Burntwood School, Southfields Academy and Ernest Bevin Academy.

The students carry out an array of activities to get a full understanding our of our work – including sports coaching, media, comms and fundraising.

We are very proud of our work experience programme that helps us inspire active lifestyles and support the development of more young people in our community.
