We’re looking for adventurous Dons fans to join the 5th Velo & Blue Dons Cycle Challenge – a sponsored 50-mile ride from Plough Lane to Reading FC’s Select Car Leasing Stadium, finishing with a free away-end ticket to cheer on AFC Wimbledon.
Taking place on Saturday 13 March 2027, this is your chance to watch The Dons away, meet fellow fans, take on a personal challenge and raise money to support AFC Wimbledon Foundation’s community programmes.
After the success of our previous rides – including our 2026 challenge to Stevenage which raised an incredible £32,000 – we’re ready to make our 5th ride our biggest and best yet!
What to Expect
We’ll set off from Cherry Red Records Stadium at Plough Lane on Saturday morning, heading west out of London and following a scenic route towards Reading.
With a mix of cycle paths, quieter roads and beautiful countryside, the 50-mile route will give you the chance to enjoy the ride, take in the scenery and soak up the atmosphere with fellow Dons fans.
We’ll arrive at Reading in good time to change and grab some lunch before heading into the stadium for the 3pm kick-off.
After the match, riders and bikes will be transported safely back to Plough Lane, allowing you to enjoy the game without worrying about the journey home.
A Ride for Everyone
The Velo & Blue is non-competitive and open to cyclists of all abilities.
Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or taking on your first 50-mile challenge, you can ride at your own pace – fast or steady – with full support throughout the day.
And it’s about much more than the cycling.
The Velo & Blue is about Dons fans coming together. Every ride has been defined by an incredible sense of camaraderie, with riders supporting and encouraging each other every mile of the way.
You’ll take on the challenge together, arrive at the match together and cheer on The Dons together.
