a sponsored cycle ride to watch afc wimbledon play gillingham on easter monday 21 April 2025

We are looking for dedicated Dons fans to take on our next Velo and Blue away day cycle challenge! A 40-mile cycle from Plough Lane to Gillingham FC’s Priestfield Stadium in Kent, before cheering on The Dons in the away end with a free ticket courtesy of AFC Wimbledon Foundation.

The Bike to Gillingham is a fantastic chance to not only watch The Dons play away but an opportunity to get to know fellow fans, complete a personal challenge and raise money to help inspire positive change in our community. The 2024 Velo and Blue cycle challenge was a huge success raising more than £7,000 for the Foundation!

The ride will begin at the Cherry Red Records Stadium on the bank holiday Monday morning, heading southeast through the picturesque Kent countryside. We will arrive in Gillingham with plenty of time to shower, change and eat lunch (as well as stop off at a pub!) before the 3pm kick off. You will then join Don’s away following for the game, before being transported, along with your bike, back to Plough Lane.

This cycling event will cater for all abilities and is not a race, you can cycle as fast or as slow as you would like and will be well supported throughout. All previous rides have been underpinned by a great sense of togetherness between the riders, something that is special among Don’s fans!

The registration fee is £50 and includes:

  • 1x free match ticket in the away end

  • Professional support throughout the cycle

  • Fundraising support & resources

  • Transport back to Plough Lane

To take part, each cyclist will pledge to raise a minimum of £400 for AFC Wimbledon Foundation, helping to support our work inspiring active lifestyles in local children, improving the lives of older people and championing sustainable sports participation for women and girls.

This social, charity cycle is open to anyone 16 and over and is non-competitive.
