Aaron’s Story

For many years Don’s fan Aaron, who lives with ASD and ADHD, has attended AFC Wimbledon Foundation’s Free Active Dons Holiday Programmes. He now attends the Foundation’s Football Player Development Centre (PDC) and dreams to play for the Dons one day. After coming to the Junior Dons Christmas Party in December he is even more motivated to train hard and become a professional footballer.

Aaron has been a joy to coach within all the sessions he has attended, a positive influence at all times, with his fantastic attitude and desire to improve. In a recent match with his PDC group against Dulwich Hamlet, Aaron played well and scored a great goal, a deserved reward for all his hard work.

This is what Aaron’s mum, Amanda, said…

‘Aaron had a fantastic time at the Junior Dons Christmas party last year. He’s never comfortable in large crowds of new people but you made us feel so welcome. He really enjoyed chatting with the players and the photos and autographs are so special to him. He is loving training at AFC Wimbledon Foundation’s PDC. His confidence is growing on and off the pitch. Thanks again for everything you do, for being so nice, great role models and most importantly for helping to keep his dream alive!’

From all of us at the Foundation we’d like to say a massive thank you to Hannah and the club for organising a brilliant Junior Dons Christmas Party. Together we can help more children like Aaron have amazing experiences in the community, on the football pitch and here at Plough Lane.

AFC Wimbledon Foundation relies on donations so we can help more children like Aaron.

Please donate today so we can keep more dreams alive.
