Paul Stars at Plough Lane

After starting as a shy member of the group Paul Pouler has become the life and soul of AFC Wimbledon Foundation’s football sessions, which support people with learning difficulties.

Paul joined the football session at Tooting and Mitcham when it first started six years ago, in partnership with Generate, a charity who aim to create better lives for people with a learning disability.

I love attending AFC Wimbledon Foundation. It’s lots of fun and we also learn new skills to improve our game
— Paul

The sessions now take place every Wednesday morning on the 5-a-side pitch at Plough Lane, allowing the participants to keep fit in a fun environment, taking part in drills, games and matches.

Although Paul is a Liverpool fan, he has loved being able to attend AFC Wimbledon games thanks to our link with Generate.

When Paul first started he was quite shy, but has developed his social skills and now has a smile on his face each week
— Doruk Ahmet, AFC Wimbledon Foundation
