AFC Wimbledon score highly in EFL report

AFC Wimbledon is celebrating a huge growth in its community activities, as revealed in a recent English Football League (EFL) report. The national Measuring the Impact of EFL Clubs in the Community report analysed the impact and social value of EFL clubs’ work in the community, and the results are nothing short of impressive.

The report showed that AFC Wimbledon established and maintained 124 partnerships in the most recent season. 37 staff were employed and delivered an incredible 363,995 hours of support to their community.

Over the past three seasons, 7,513 community sessions and events have been delivered, with 13,761 hours of delivery (5,191 hrs in 2021/22 alone).

Perhaps most impressive of all, the report revealed that the Foundation’s work has helped generate a total of £2,516,879.20 of social value across the 2021/22 season.

‘We are very proud that our programmes have generated over £2.5m of social value. Not only are we positively impacting the lives of our local community but we have reduced the social and economic costs for local authorities, the health service and national government.’
— Philip Rudling, Foundation Director

The report concluded that the power of AFC Wimbledon in their community is evident to see and will continue to contribute significantly to developing stronger, healthier, more active communities.

AFC Wimbledon is celebrating this fantastic news and is looking forward to continuing to make a difference in their local community.
