Foundation Volunteers Shine at Merton Civic Pride Awards

AFC Wimbledon Foundation are delighted to announce that two of our volunteers, Sian and Kacey, won awards at the Merton Partnership Civic Pride Awards 2023, in an evening dedicated to honouring the selfless contributions of volunteers.

The event, held at Plough Lane, recognized the invaluable efforts of individuals who have dedicated their time and energy to making a positive impact in the local community.

Among the standout achievers of the evening were Kacey Berry and Sian Lyle from AFC Wimbledon Foundation. Sian won Silver in the Young Sports Club Volunteer of the Year Award, which recognises those “who dedicate their time and are committed to ensuring that Merton residents can enjoy the benefits if sport and physical activity, giving them the opportunity to feel more motivated, confident and healthy”. We are incredibly proud of Sian and would like to congratulate Daniel Wong and Sam Priest, who won Bronze and Gold respectively, on their fantastic achievements.

Kacey won the Paul Smithers Sports Club Volunteer of the Year Award, which is in honour of Fulham Foundation’s Youth and Community Manager, who died suddenly in 2022, aged 31. The award also recognises those “who dedicate their time and are committed to ensuring that Merton residents can enjoy the benefits if sport and physical activity”.
