Myles Hippolyte Inspires Young People at Premier League Kicks Session

AFC Wimbledon Foundation was delighted to welcome AFC Wimbledon first-team player Myles Hippolyte to a recent Premier League Kicks session on our astro-turf at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

Myles was joined by Metropolitan Police representative John Joseph (JJ) to deliver an engaging and thought-provoking workshop centred around the theme of respect - both within football and in everyday life.

The session provided local young people with a valuable opportunity to hear directly from positive role models about the importance of behaviour, accountability and building strong relationships on and off the pitch. Through open discussion and personal stories, participants gained an insight into the values that help create successful teams, stronger communities and positive futures.

Drawing on his own experiences within the game, Myles spoke about the role respect plays throughout football, from training and matchdays to interactions with teammates, coaches and supporters. He encouraged participants to recognise the impact their actions can have on others and highlighted the importance of setting high standards for themselves both in sport and beyond.

Alongside Myles, JJ shared his perspective on respect within the wider community, discussing how positive choices, communication and mutual understanding can help create safer and more inclusive environments for everyone.

The workshop also gave participants the chance to ask questions, share their own views and experiences, and engage in meaningful conversations with both guests.

Following the discussion, the group took part in football activities, bringing the session's key messages to life through teamwork, communication and enjoyment of the game.

Player appearances such as these are a powerful reminder of football's ability to inspire young people, providing opportunities to learn from role models while strengthening connections between the club, the Foundation and the local community.

Premier League Kicks continues to use the power of football and sport to engage young people, helping them to develop confidence, resilience and important life skills in a safe and supportive environment.

A huge thank you to Myles and JJ for giving their time, energy and support to the programme. Their contribution helped create a memorable and impactful session for everyone involved.
