Nylah’s Award Winning Skills

My favourite moment was scoring with the foot I don’t usually score with!
— Nylah, age 7

Through AFC Wimbledon Foundation’s sessions, 7-year-old Nylah has developed her confidence and technical ability, even winning awards for her football skills.

Nylah has been attending our Girls Only Wildcats sessions on a Wednesday evening for the last few months and has quickly become a popular member of the group. Her charismatic personality has delighted the coaches and helped her make “loads of friends”.

The sessions have helped Nylah develop her football skills, trying more tricks and turns, while building her confidence to take other players on when she has the ball.

Following on from the enjoyable evening sessions, Nylah attended our Christmas Holiday Camp in January, where she helped other girls to learn new tricks and was even awarded a medal for her football skills. Nylah was presented the medal by two members of AFC Wimbledon’s U15 Academy team, Romy and Olivia, who supported the Girls Only Holiday Course, to act as role models and to help inspire future stars on the camps.

It has been great to see her progressing and upskill in different areas. She has made lots of friends and is a great personality in the group.
