Sophie Shines at Wimbledon Women's Final
For 12-year-old Sophie Kneen, the 2025 Wimbledon Women's Final was a day she will never forget - and not just because of the history made on Centre Court.
Chosen by the Wimbledon Foundation, the official charity of the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) for the prestigious honour of performing the official coin toss, Sophie experienced an unforgettable behind-the-scenes journey at the world’s most famous tennis tournament.

Sophie arrived early in the day, long before the crowds filled the iconic grounds. Her exclusive access began with a behind-the-scenes tour of Wimbledon, including a special visit to meet Rufus, the AELTC’s resident hawk responsible for keeping pigeons away from Centre Court.

She then enjoyed lunch in the players’ lounge, soaking in the atmosphere, before taking her seat to watch a thrilling Men’s Doubles Final.
Sophie was among the lucky few to witness British duo Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool clinch the men’s doubles title - the first all-British pair to do so in 89 years.
As the afternoon progressed, Sophie joined the Royal Lineup, where she had the honour of meeting Her Royal Highness, the Princess of Wales, before heading onto Centre Court for her big moment.
In front of a global audience, Sophie performed the coin toss for the Women's Singles Final between Amanda Anisimova and Iga Świątek. She then posed for photographers, before taking her seat to witness another piece of history.
In a commanding display, world No. 1 Iga Świątek defeated Anisimova 6–0, 6–0, delivering the first “double bagel” in a Wimbledon final in the Open era, and the first in a Grand Slam final since the 1988 French Open.
Sophie is part of our Girls Football Pathway Project which is being funded by the Wimbledon Foundation over three years and aims to increase female participation levels and help more women and girls into coaching and leadership roles in sport.
