One Haircut, Twice the Impact: Vicente’s Story
Since the age of just three, Vicente has been growing his hair - not for style, but for smiles.
Every time he has it cut, Vicente donates his hair to be made into wigs for children battling cancer. For those children, a wig is more than just hair. It’s the chance to feel like themselves again, to smile with confidence, and to face tough days with renewed hope.
This year, Vicente is taking his kindness even further. Alongside donating his hair, he is also fundraising to support AFC Wimbledon Foundation and our work in the community.
Vicente has his hair cut once a year in Brazil, where this special journey began just after the pandemic. During Brazil’s strict lockdown - 140 days without even being allowed down the road - his family started collecting plastic bottle lids to donate to an organisation that exchanged them for wheelchairs. That experience inspired Vicente to keep finding ways to help others.
Now, he’s determined to make a difference not only for children with cancer, but also for disadvantaged young people here in our community.
Donate Now to support Vicente’s wonderful act of kindness
Every donation, big or small, will help us provide free football opportunities, education, and support to children and families who need it most.
your support can make a difference in two powerful ways:
✨ For children with cancer – Vicente’s hair will be transformed into wigs that restore confidence and bring joy.
✨ For young people locally – your donation will help the Foundation deliver life-changing programmes across Merton, Wandsworth, and South West London.
Together, we can help Vicente turn one haircut into hope for children both near and far.
‘We are all so proud of Vicente. What an incredible thing to do for children fighting cancer. To also raise vital funds so we can continue serving our community and giving more disadvantaged children the chance to play football for free makes it even more special. You truly are a superstar, Vicente.’
