Women at the Game!
The Women at the Game event gladly welcomed twenty three visitors including four volunteers from the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group to the Cherry Red Records Stadium, many of whom witnessed their first ever big match atmosphere!
The group included the Saheli and Chai Asian’s Women group from Kingston along with 40 students from the local Burntwood School in Wandsworth which was organised by the Foundation. They had the pleasure of meeting with ‘Lady Imps’ from Lincoln, the AFC Wimbledon first team women players and mascot Haydon the Womble!
Anna Slade, Women at the Game organiser, commented that “I'm especially grateful to all our wonderful people in the Club, the Foundation and our Diversity and Inclusion Group volunteers, without whom this wouldn't have been possible. Thank you all so much!”.
The late Jacqui Foster initiated the idea of women getting together every year to witness the fantastic atmosphere of a football game, and there was no better place for this than the Cherry Red Records Stadium.
