Smiles all round at AFC Wimbledon Foundation Day

On Saturday, Plough Lane played host to AFC Wimbledon Foundation Day, a celebration of the work we do in our community.

We raised an amazing £5,010.90 on the day, thanks to raffle ticket sales and generous donations, over £2,000 more than last year!

340 of our participants attended the game and cheered on the Dons, with 76 of them from the age of 5 to 76 joining Foundation staff and volunteers for the half-time parade.

The day also marked the completion of our 1000 More Campaign, a 14-month campaign to reach, engage and inspire 1000 more local people in sporting and social activities. Now, on average, 3596 local people take part in Foundation lead programmes and activites every week.

To address the needs of our local community we now need to focus, even more, on reaching the most disadvantaged people, making sure everyone has access to sport, exercise and social activities.
