Support the Dons cycle challenge team!
With the Dons Cycle Challenge taking place this Saturday, 14th March, former Wimbledon players John Scales, Damien Francis and Mikey Haswell have been sharing why they’re getting on their bikes to support the Foundation.
The trio are part of a team of dedicated Dons supporters who will be cycling 50 miles from Plough Lane to Stevenage FC this Saturday, raising vital funds to support the Foundation’s work across our local community.
While the challenge will test the riders physically, the motivation behind it is much bigger than the miles.
Every week, AFC Wimbledon Foundation supports thousands of people aged 4 to 96 through programmes that use sport to improve wellbeing, tackle inequality and bring people together.
From helping young people build confidence and access opportunities, to creating inclusive spaces for women and girls in sport, and supporting older residents to stay active and connected, the Foundation works across the community to ensure football can be a force for good.
Speaking ahead of the ride, the former players shared why supporting the Foundation matters so much to them, and why the challenge is about more than simply reaching the finish line.
With the challenge now just days away, supporters can still play a vital role by backing the team and helping the Foundation continue delivering life-changing programmes across the local community.
If you’re able to, please consider donating to the Dons Cycle Challenge and help make every mile count. 💛💙
