Amy cycled to provide sporting opportunities for women and girls

In April, Amy Jenkins joined Team Velo and Blue to take on the Dons Cycle Challenge in support of AFC Wimbledon Foundation, to help provide sporting opportunities to Women and Girls.

Amy, pictured on the ride at Epsom Racecourse, has always enjoyed a variety of different sports. Having previously been an all-rounder for Surrey Cricket, she now plays in goal for Woking FC Women, helping the team reach a cup final this season.

Amy took on the Dons Cycle Challenge to help ensure that all women and girls are afforded the same opportunities to play sport and keep active. Amy smashed her personal fundraising target, raising £585 and helping Team Velo and Blue raise over £7,500 including gift aid.

Sport has always been a big part of my life and I want all women and girls to have the same opportunities I had

AFC Wimbledon Foundation ‘Champions Sustainable Sports Participation for Women and Girls’, engaging them to get and stay active. We want to add more FREE women and girls only sessions to what we already do and employ more inspirational female coaches. Amy’s incredible effort will help girls like Madison, whose confidence has grown at Kicks.
